Artifact #7

Categories: Bronze & Glass, Paperweights
  • Description

Description

Did it fall from the sky? Was it found on the red planet? The armature of this artifact was created by Dana, sculpted in wax and then cast in bronze. Next, the metal was threaded onto the end of a solid steel rod and hot glass was blown into it. The final display pedestal was fabricated in brass to properly support and show off the artifact. This piece was selected for Corning Museum’s International publication “New Glass Review” in 1990. A slide of this sculpture remains on file in the archive collection at the Corning Museum of Glass.
